Deep sides allow you to store items other than file folders...like Christmas ornaments.
Keep away from traffic. I think these are inexpensive because the material is thinner than more expensive file cabinets. Just don't kick or sit on to avoid denting, but still aren't so thin that dent if you look at them.
Color was not the obnoxious yellow that I was fearing. It is more a subtle off-white on the yellowish side.
